Fighting Multiple System Atrophy (MSA)
Moran’s Mission is a nonprofit organization inspired by the life of Keith Moran. Keith lived life to the fullest, consistently putting the needs of others ahead of his own. A collector of friends who laughed until the end, Keith lost his battle to Multiple System Atrophy in July of 2023. Keith’s family and friends created Moran’s Mission to honor Keith’s legacy, raise awareness about MSA and, most importantly, help others still in the fight.
About Moran’s Mission
Moran’s Mission is dedicated to supporting those in the St. Louis Metro-East region who are battling MSA. Our nonprofit organization offers a wide range of services and resources for patients, caregivers, and families navigating this challenging disease. As a newly established organization, we are beginning our work by collaborating closely with doctors in the St. Louis region to provide tailored support based on their expert recommendations.
What is Multiple System Atrophy (MSA)?
Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) is a rare and slowly progressive neurodegenerative disease affecting approximately 15,000 to 50,000 Americans. MSA affects both the central nervous system and the autonomic nervous system, leading to symptoms that can include difficulties with movement, balance, and autonomic functions like blood pressure regulation. Despite its rarity, the impact on those affected and their families is profound. By raising awareness and supporting research, Moran’s Mission aims to improve the quality of life for those battling MSA and ultimately contribute to finding a cure.
